Getting out of your comfort zone and trying something new may seem intimidating, but it’s an important part of transforming your life physically and emotionally. Here are four reasons to try new things!
- You’ll learn new skills.
We all love our comfort zones, but you only develop new skills when you push yourself to try new things! Whether it’s cooking a new meal, trying a new workout, or taking up a new hobby, you’ll develop unique skills as you push yourself to do things you haven’t tried before. Of course, some new things take time to master, so be patient with yourself and celebrate the small steps you take along the way!
- You’ll see what you’re capable of.
By trying new things, you give yourself the opportunity to discover what you can accomplish. While it’s tempting to assume that you can’t do something or that you’ll fail, you’ll never know what you can do if you never try. As you try new things, take pride in what you do well and find areas in which you can improve!
- You’ll build courage.
Doing new things may seem scary, but you’ll quickly find that getting out of your comfort zone builds courage. When you try something new for the first time, that helps you build confidence to try the next new thing. In turn, that will give you confidence to try another new thing, and so on. All you have to do is keep up the momentum and use that courage to continue to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
- You may love it!
The best part of trying new things is giving yourself the opportunity to find new favorites. Let’s say, for example, that you’ve always been a runner and you’ve never branched out. If you decide to change up your exercise routine with a yoga class, you might decide that it’s not for you, or you might find that it’s your new favorite way to work out. That makes it worth trying!
This goes for new foods, too. The food lists in your BBS brochure have a lot of options for protein, carbohydrates, fruits, and vegetables, so branch out and try a few new options. You never know what may become your new favorite!
