A lot of people think that transforming your life physically and emotionally is complicated. But today, we want to talk about how embracing simplicity can make it much easier to transform your life!
The Case for Keeping Things Simple
When you’re working to transform your life, simplicity is key. The more complicated you make things, the more likely you are to get overwhelmed and give up! That’s why our BBS meal plan is designed to make things easy for you. We give you the meal schedule and lists of healthy foods, and all you have to do is choose what you want to eat.
Of course, you’ll also want to embrace simplicity as you prepare your meals. Let’s say, for example, that you’ve never really cooked for yourself before. If you go from rarely cooking to trying to master ultra-complicated recipes, it’s probably not going to go well. But if you start out slow and take on a few easy recipes like the ones found here, you can start your transformation on the right foot without overwhelming yourself.
Keeping things simple can also mean planning things out to make healthy decisions easier to stick with later in the day. If you’re usually pressed for time in the morning, prepare your water, almond milk, or dairy milk in a shaker bottle the night before so all you have do is mix in your YES in the morning. If you’re often tempted to skip lunch or hit up the vending machines at work, bring healthy snacks with you so you’re prepared when hunger strikes. By being prepared in advance, you’ll find healthy decisions much simpler.
Simplicity isn’t just for your diet. The benefits of keeping things simple also extend to your workouts. At Yoli, we know how important physical activity is for your health, but only if you do it in a safe way. If you’re starting a new fitness routine, trying to do too much too soon can lead to burnout and/or injury.
Fortunately, there are a lot of simple, effective exercises that you can scale based on your own fitness level. Bodyweight exercises are great for simple workouts. Squats, lunges, push-ups, pull-ups, and planks are all exercises that can help you build strength, and you can do them anywhere. You could also take a walk, go for a run, or ride your bike for a simple cardio workout. Just choose something you like and make it part of your routine!
